Day 9 - Party

As usual on the last building day we stopped a bit earlier and had a party, while most of the prototypes got ready to show their full beauty the hotdogs were prepared and the beer cooled…

This evening is also the best moment to share our concepts with our sponsors and partners. So Frans from festool, Peter from Raaco and Mark from hettich joined the workshop and had a cold beer.
They were surprised about this semesters innovative ideas and concepts …so are we !

Thanks so much, without them the whole workshop would be impossible !

here some impressions:

Day 7 building weeks - guests

Today we had a couple of guests, first Prof. Thijs Asselbergs joined the club and was impressed about the progress of the bamboo pavilion. Also Frans from Festool had a short visit, a piece of our table saw broke and he was so kind to bring a spare part immediately - super service thanks for that and he was also showing a couple of tricks how to use our tools the most efficient …

More and more of the projects are getting finished and look already awesome, we are all so curious how they will look at the end.

During lunch also Mario the head of the newly opened Fablab in Delft Plug n make had a short visit, so nice to get in touch with the makers of the city, we definetely want to cooperate with them in the future.

Day 6 - here we go again

2nd week 1st day …monday! Normally we hate mondays but seeing the students diving into their projects right away it seems everyone like to start again after the weekend.

The projects grow further and further and while others already take shape others seem to produce
a various set of parts that will be assembled soon, still not unveiling what they will become …if you haven't seen the plans already.

Have a look whats going on in the shop:

Day 5 - a bamboo pavilion

so, the first weeks is done ! Step by step you can see how the projects develop and while Aaron was reporting from our laser cutting service station at fabfac the machines nearly don't stop in our workshop.

The Bamboo pavilion was already showing its full size ( scale 1:2 ), the most exciting part will come on monday the roof structure. While our vacuum forming group was getting used to their new machine Yanis group made huge steps forward …honestly I still believe its can't fly …
Nihat mastered the art of papermachee and is now already a pro in this delicate antique additive manufacturing process. Ulf Hackauf also stopped by for a short visit and was amazed by the progress of the students, and he is totally right !

We are closing the workshop for this week, still a couple of days to go, but for now a happy weekend !
