Wild and Bold - the Photoshooting

one of the highlights of every semester is for sure the photoshooting, its the moment when all prototypes are visible in its finished state and the students itself are getting a better clou what the other groups actually made …

Due to the shear size of the most cardboard projects that will be erected in a few weeks for our Bucky Expo in the orange hall we had to improvise a bit, so for the cardboard projects only smaller tests and the scale models are visible today …we will make pictures of the pavilions later …promised.

The coastal living RWS projects are already visible but we weren't able to place the lightvan down in our basement. We set up our mobile photo studio down in front of the bucky cave which will cause a bit more work to get rid of a few spots on the wall and some text but, we are all amazed about the nice set of pictures we have taken today.

What a great result, today we share the set of group pictures, more to come later !

Festool Pit Stop and Toolhouse

Having finished the building weeks and the students busy with finishing their reports its time to put some tlc to our tools. So having one router making some weird sounds from a ball bearing we took the tool to festool for a service. Quite nice if you are able to benefit from their all inclusive service which includes maintanance costs for the first 3 years after registrations of the tools online.

While the router was taking care of, we also took the opportunity to take some pictures of the tools house we made a few years ago. Many students from back then who builded the demonstration pavilion asked if the toolhouse is still there - and yes it is. Its used as planned and with every new tool in the product range the toolhouse changes a bit to show the solutions the tools are able to offer in a realistic environment within the panels of the structure.

So you are able to see some old window frames, some newer, a staircase, a kitchen and a door to show different tasks of their tools in action. We are very proud that the former design of the building is still up for its tasks and used as planned with a continuos update when necessary.

So have a look

A happy new year

After a very busy end of the year the dust settled in the 015Loods, our temporary home of the last weeks. Robert Akerboom one of our students made the effort to create a timelaps of our two weeks building actions. Quite amazing to see the time fly by and a clean warehouse at the end of the clip. The holidays came well deserved and everyone was able to refresh after these busy times, rumors told that our Dr. Bucky Lab did not stop building and prefered to work in his workshop instead of joining a proper meal at home with his family, true or not he also seems to be much more refreshed ...

The students are now back in the studio, writing their reports and adding some finishing touches to their models. We have to prepare the exhibition in the orange hall ...will be tricky to squeeze all the cardboard structures into the small space...

We wish you all the best and a busy 2015, may you build whatever you can imagine !
