We got our coffee machine from Douwe Egberts this friday and we already set it up in our basement storage room. Thats how a workshop should look like...This one is an instant coffee machine, which allows us to operate it in the tent without a constant water supply. What we didnt know was how it works in detail. The coffee comes in a frozen pack containing a very strong sirup, that is made by setting a normal coffee in huge barrels and will then condensed into a honey like fluid by getting rid of all the water, in the end this is a 20 times stronger espresso that will be mixed again with boiling water. This one is also able to serve cappucino so a box of milk is also within the machine. To keep all the ingredients fresh, the machine has a frigde also, quite interesting how much temperature differences the coffee passes till it is served.
this blog is dedicated to the Bucky Lab from the TU Delft faculty of Architecture. Within the mastercourse we design, develop and at the end build architecture and building construction related prototypes. Its a "get your hands dirty" approach in which the students learn how to translate concepts from sketch into working prototypes. We try to live the spirit of buckminster fuller: what ever you can imagine, you can also build!
