After 8 days of blood, tears and sweat ...just kidding it was dusty, but fun ...anyhow we are nearly there !
While the most projects are one off´s and real prototypes including only a few similar parts, building a dome requires a different approach of fabrication, its not only one node you have to make but a whole set of it ...
but today we saw the first bits and pieces come together, and we have to admit: It looks like a dome !
Cool !
We should also mention our shaping wind team who have to produce 100 windmill wings in a mould, in total 100 pieces are needed ...
The boys had so much fun at the sewing machine, they already started to sew summer skirts for Dr. Bucky Labs mother in law ...
Pick of the day : Without sand paper on the sanding machine, the work takes more time than usual ...
this blog is dedicated to the Bucky Lab from the TU Delft faculty of Architecture. Within the mastercourse we design, develop and at the end build architecture and building construction related prototypes. Its a "get your hands dirty" approach in which the students learn how to translate concepts from sketch into working prototypes. We try to live the spirit of buckminster fuller: what ever you can imagine, you can also build!
