We made a huge progress today and to be honest, we missed the moment of the first placement of the pavillion beeing busy upstairs fininshing the last parts and sending them down...damn...
While half of the group was busy with sanding all the plywood plates in sync mode ( watch the videos ..we had fun as usual ! ) and cutting the roof structure parts and preparing Domino joints, the rest of the "Mighty 19" were busy in the demo room to prepare the floor plates. Piece by piece was set down from Remko and his precisous skills handling the forklift and the only thing that was noticable was the students taking the elements away towards the demo room. It got quiter and quiter upstairs so we decided to go down and have a look ...WTF we missed something to capture ...the half of the pavillion was already upright and fully assembled ...and the only thing that was seen was a bunch of smiling students and intructors next to our "architect" Coen who was happy as a president after his reelection ....and with reason !
The Festool Toolhouse looks amazing and all the elements came together nicely. Tomorrow we will set up the roof elements which will require the whole crew and lets cross fingers that everything will fit ...to be honest we dont have any doubts...
You asked for it, so also a picture of Dr. Bucky Lab ...
this blog is dedicated to the Bucky Lab from the TU Delft faculty of Architecture. Within the mastercourse we design, develop and at the end build architecture and building construction related prototypes. Its a "get your hands dirty" approach in which the students learn how to translate concepts from sketch into working prototypes. We try to live the spirit of buckminster fuller: what ever you can imagine, you can also build!
